Ugh! Four rejections this week...Hmm, was going through the pile and realized I currently have 34 submissions outstanding. Ye Gods!--I've been busier than I realized. And this evening it's off the the Writers Group--where I'll undoubtedly be inspired to scribble an oddment or two.

Just heard...

Bill Olver from over at BIG PULP just notified me that my story, Light Capture will be available as a PDF on August 1st, and also, that the story will be online on about August 25th. Some fine news on a cloudy night.

Twenty-Seven

...that's how many stories I have awaiting responses at the moment. They include one query for a novella, and a non-fiction piece on writing. The rest are shorts and flashes submitted to print and online publications. The muse has battered and badgered me of late and I hope there's a story or two among what I sent that some editor might fancy.

In the busy world of work, bankruptcy, war, famine, you name it--it is refreshing to relax in the warm arms of reading a great story. Nowadays, with the internet, such fantastic sites as Every Day Fiction, Flash Fiction Online, and Flashes In the Dark, give us so much to peruse, if only for a few moments, to set our minds at ease, ponder some ideas that some bright author has lain before us; it's a wonderful age to live in if we but take pause for a moment and smell the roses in our lives.

Been doing rather well of late, if I do say so myself, in the somewhat frustrating endeavor of getting published.
Two poems upcoming at Every Day Poets; a flash piece at Everyday Weirdness; a short pulp story at Big Pulp; two short stories--one in December, one coming in March--at Moon Drenched Fables, and a couple of micros coming in June at Thaumatrope.
There's nothing so satisfying to my writer's mind as an acceptance--and lately I've had a few!
